The problem
The game backend produced match results off-chain, but rewards had to be paid on-chain in KATA tokens, fairly and without wasting gas on players who did not qualify.
What I built
- Built a Node.js service that consumes match results from the game backend over NATS and computes player eligibility and reward amounts.
- Wrote the reward distribution smart contracts and designed the payout flow to keep gas costs low.
- Integrated thirdweb wallet connection in the Next.js client so players can view and claim rewards.
- Stored reward runs in MongoDB for auditability and to prevent double payouts.
Outcome
The engine is deployed and distributes KATA to qualifying players after each match, with every run recorded for audit.
